Awards and Presentations

The presentation "Occupational and Environmental Risk Assessment of Elemental Mercury at the Edison National Historic Site in West Orange, NJ" was presented at the Smithsonian American Art Museum on November 8, 2016. Elemental mercury was used in the research of batteries. The research performed on the third floor dripped from the wooden floor into the interstitial space between the floor and second floor ceiling. Contamination was also spread to many artifacts stored in the museum. This presentation addressed the occupational and environmental issues during remediation.
