Awards and Presentations

Mr. Fontaine was award the distinction as a Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) for his work and professional contributions to industrial hygiene, occupational health, and related disciplines either through research, leadership, peer-reviewed publications, presentations, training/education or service. AIHA Fellow designation is limited to five percent (5%) of the AIHA membership.

Mr. Fontaine discussed the global occupational health concerns in the workplace and/or working conditions of various industries. Many workers are exposed to air and surface contaminants or ingest toxic materials which affects various body organs and systems. Controls are not used to reduce the exposure. Initiatives are unway to educate all stakeholders on the cost of illness and disease and the economic impact on the gross domestic product output. The indirect and direct costs are not realized since they are considered a cost of doing business. 
Workplace Health Without Borders - Northeast Regional Industrial Hygiene Conference
December 2014
Mr. Fontaine discussed the hazard identfication and quantitative risk process to evaluate both occupational health and safety exposures at a regional upstream oil/gas producer. The outcome provided the framework for a strategic management plan to reduce risk, improve human performance, increase productivity and profitability.
